Baby Grey | Lifestyle Newborn Session | Fruitvale B.C.

Adorable baby Grey surprised his family by arriving 1 month ahead of schedule! Haylee was scheduled for her third C-section the first week of December when she went into early labour on November 3rd. Grey was born “preemie” at 7lbs 5oz!!!! Talk about a big boy! Haylee knew that he was going to be big. Had he waited until his due date he probably would have surpassed the birth weight of his two older brothers by a mile! Luckily for the Thompsons, this little nugget made an early appearance! 

A week later, Haylee asked me if I would come by the house to do a low key newborn lifestyle session with Grey and the rest of the family. Not only was I looking forward to meeting Grey, but I was also so excited to shoot my first in-home lifestyle session! I had been wanting to do a session just like this for some time and this was a perfect start. Since photographing Grey, I have had the pleasure of capturing three more babies under the same circumstances just within the last couple months. Working with families in their home where they are most comfortable is such an amazing experience. Everyone is so relaxed, comfortable and happy. This session as no exception - Grey was a delight to work with and I don’t think he cried once! Haylee and George were amazing, as always, and just went with the flow. When the boys woke up from their naps they were ready to go! The best part was they could come and go as they pleased. They would run off to grab their favourite toy or a snack then get right back into playing around with mom, dad and Grey. 

 At-home lifestyle sessions have quickly become my favourite sessions and I think everyone should do at least one! So, next time you are planning newborn, family or couple photos, ask yourself if an at home lifestyle session is right for you!
