What could be better than a family photo shoot for a Christmas Present?! My beautiful cousin and new mama of the most adorable little peanut asked if I would capture her family this past November as her gift to her inlaws. To which I said “yes!” of course! Making trips to the Okanagan for work is always such a treat, not only do I get to do what I love but I get to visit with the people I love too…win, win! Kaila and her husband Dave, scouted a mountain side location in Lake Country the weekend prior to our shoot and let me tell you, this spot couldn’t have been any better! The day they had checked it out the sun was shinning and the sky was blue, and she was pretty pumped on the view. Well, the day of our session came and it was chilly, a little windy, overcast and we might have got rained on a bit too. Once we all arrived I could see the look of unease on everyones face, to anyone else this day by all accounts was terrible. A day to stay indoors warm and cozy, not a day to be getting your photos taken. However, this was not my first “bad day” and I assured everyone that the photos would turn out amazing if not better than they would have on a sunny, blue sky day. As all my extended family session go, I spent time with each individual family unit alongside the full family photos. As expected little miss Veda stole the show, as any button nosed 6 month old would do! And as promised the photos turned out amazing!
