Nick and Angela celebrated their 9 year wedding anniversary this fall. I remember attending their wedding, they were married in a tiny church in Fruitvale that was packed to the brim with all their friends and family; everyone had shown up to witness the love that these two share. The reception was held at the Colombo Lodge in Trail, I wish I could say I remember more from that night but myself along with the rest of the people in attendance were all having way too much fun! Looking back it’s hard to believe it was 9 years ago, two babies later, (who aren't really babies anymore) you can still see the love that was there the day they said “I do”.

There's just something about a couple session that I can't get enough of, regardless if your engaged or have been married for years, something special is bound to happen in this session! Matt and Becca have been married nearly 2.5 years, in-fact Matt proposed right around Valentine’s Day, which made this session extra special. I have recently come to know Becca and Matt after moving back to the Kootenays less than a year ago and we are quickly becoming close friends. These two are always up for playing board games or just sitting around enjoying a bottle of wine; these two are my kind of people! It was so nice being able to capture a snippet in time of the love they share, I can;t wait to see what the future holds for them!

I have been trying to connect with the Ehmans for what felt like forever! Finally we settled on a day and it couldn’t have been a more perfect! Nathan and Cheryl are my brother and sister in-law and they had handed down a crib and a few other key items to us when Raine was born, so this session was my way of saying thank you for helping us save a bundle! It had been sometime since they had any family photos taken and it was so nice to be able to help them add updated photos to their walls.

These guys brought it all; a custom made hot cocoa stand equipped with all the fixings and a killer wardrobe with all the right accessories. The location was amazing with a lot of variety including wide open fields and rustic barn doors (which I’m a total sucker for)…

1960's a small town Trail girl decides one day that she's going on vacation to the Bahamas and once that vacation was over decided "hey! I want to live here!" and did just that. It was there in Nassau, where she met a handsome mechanic and musician. They married soon after and had a beautiful sunny December 9th wedding in the Bahamas. The day was perfect minus a couple hiccups along the way, like a major power outage that hindered their dinner service, but by the end of the day everyone left happy, fed and with a few good stories. They eventually moved back to Trail B.C where they raised a beautiful multi-cultural family, (one of very, very few) right here in the Kootenays…

In the last year, I have had the pleasure of working with up-and-coming entrepreneurs as well as large corporations that have been operating for years. My most recent work includes shooting the Board of Directors and Senior Management team with Teck in Vancouver, as well as Threads clothing store and its neighbour the Trail Beer Refinery. Being able to capture professionals and their work is something I hope to keep doing for years to come.  Here are three reasons why I LOVE photographing businesses and the people who operate them…

I love everything about fall! The boots, the sweaters, the pumpkin spice lattes, I’m all about it! But fall is always made better when there are family photos involved! I had made my way back to Kelowna to visit friends and family which is always the best, but my trip was made even better when I got to photograph the beautiful DeZwaan family in all the fall glory!

Nothing beats a sunny fall day in October. The kind of day when you can leave your house without a jacket and hat and really soak up the warms rays of the sun. This is exactly the kind of morning we had when I did my second shoot with the Thompson's…

After a trip to Silver city days, fawning over adorable kittens and movie going, these two inevitably fell in love and the rest was history ! Their friends and family came from all over to celebrate the much anticipated day! The wedding has a 1920's theme equipped with a stunning lace and jewelled fitted gown and white bird cage centre pieces. It was truly an honor to capture such a special day!

I had the pleasure of spending the evening with my cousin and his fiancé, I learned a lot about Cole & Kait and their relationship that day. I learned that my once wild little cousin, is no longer so little or so wild and is deeply in love with a beautiful caring woman and isn't afraid to show it. I learned that these two are always down for a fun time and will try just about anything you throw their way. But most importantly, I learned how much Cole and Kait truly care for one another and how perfect they are for each other

I am so excited to share my first Kootenay family photo shoot! I am so in love with everything about this session - the location, the colours, and most of all the family its self!

Haylee had been wanting photos done in the buttercup fields for the longest time. Once we were situated in our new home she wasted no time in asking me to come out to her families gorgeous property just outside of Fruitvale. The goal was to shoot in the sea of yellow before it was all gone and we were just on time! We spent the later part of the afternoon frolicking through the field and playing in the wood. This session was all about fun and that's exactly what we had.

Dalraj and Jaz literally rolled into the orchard in Jaz's Mustang. Once they got out I was completely floored. The traditional Indian clothing they were wearing was phenomenal! Dalraj was wearing the most brilliant emerald green Salwar Kameez, and Jaz wore a crisp white Kurta. 

The entire day start to finish was spectacular. The two of them brought out their fun playful sides and the love they share is evident…

This spring, I have a number of shoots right in my own back yard! The beautiful orchard I live on is in full bloom and the ultimate backdrop for photos! The first session was a maternity/family shoot with Erin, her three kids and Brandon. This is to be baby number four for Erin and Brandon's first little one! I've known Brandon for a few years so when he asked me if I would interested in photographing him and Erin, I was excited to work with another pregnant mama! I've said it before and I will say it again, there is something just so beautiful and special about a pregnant woman, and Erin was no exception. She is gorgeous regardless, but add that perfect baby bump and it's magic! 

“I had people imply I was selfish for going back to school, I’ve had others say I’d never get a job, or that a degree was useless. But along the way I had supporters! I truly found myself at college. Today, I am in business meetings, committees, and an active participant in the community. I always dreamt of getting my degree, and this is one of my proudest accomplishments.”

I am so inspired and incredibly proud of this beautiful young woman, and I am so happy I was able to be a small part in this exciting time for her and her family.
