Owner, certified group fitness instructor, yoga teacher and kinesiology graduate, Drea Dokuchie poured her blood, sweat and tears into what can only be described as perfection. The Nadi Tree isn’t just a yoga and fitness studio, it’s a place for community, self-care and wellness. "I established The Nadi Tree with a passion for teaching others to develop internal awareness, to become in greater alignment with the rhythms of the earth, and to reach their true full potential. I’m dedicated to helping people achieve greatness, to live authentically, and to feel better- inside & out” - and she is doing just that. With the help of local fitness and yoga instructors, Drea offers a wide variety of classes for everyone to enjoy. Not only are her members getting a fantastic workout, but they are achieving a greater connection with themselves.
I had the pleasure of capturing the transformed space in the old Italo Canadese building which is truly a work of art, literally! The paintings lining the walls are absolutely outstanding thanks to the talents of local artist Natasha Louise, who helped bring together the life and vision that is the Nadi Tree. I was also able to witness first hand, two of the classes Drea was teaching. The enthusiasm in not only Drea, but the attendees was mesmerizing. It was like I wasn’t even there with a camera around my neck and all I wanted to do was jump in and be part of the class. I walked out of there with a new appreciation for small local businesses, old buildings and an urge to get my butt into gear!
