I am fortunate to call this little family of 5 my family! This is my cousin Jenika and her little fam jam! Ever since I can remember Jen and all her siblings would come to Trail in the summer, those were the days! Our family was always close, we would often go on big camping trips, or spend hot sunny days splashing around in the Warfield pool, but most of the time we would be running around our nonna and nonno’s house having water fights and playing sardines. With all those happy memories, it’s no wonder Jen makes a point to bring her own kids to Trail to visit with grandparents and extended family. This summer Jen’s husband Evan reached out to me and asked if I would capture their family. We choose Beaver Creek as our location and when we showed up it was sprinkling rain. We started making our way down to the river but then it really started to come down. Luckily we made it undercover before we were completely soaked. It took a while for the weather to let up, but it eventually did and we made our way back out.

Often times, rain can put a damper on a photo shoot but on this day we embraced it. On this day there was something magical about the rain and the way the light was shining through it. I will never shy away from photographing in the rain and so long as the client is ok to get a little wet, i’m 100% in….so long as it isn’t down pour!

Of course as soon we were driving away the sun broke though and the clouds parted and even though everyone had changed out of their adorable well put together outfits I made sure to take a couple extra ones up at our Nonna’s house before we enjoyed a bonfire and dinner!
