Christina + Chris | A Summer Wedding in Edmonton | West Kootenay Wedding Photographer
Never did I think that I would photograph a wedding all the way up in Edmonton! I was truly honoured when my cousin asked if I would capture her and her fiancé's special day. Living so far a part from one another it’s not always easy to stay connected. I was lucky enough to meet Chris the previous summer when they both came down to celebrate our Grandma and Grandpa's 60th wedding anniversary. Since they were in Trail we took the opportunity to take engagement photos, during that session it was easy to see that these two were head over heels for each other. I got to witness first had the love and playfulness they shared and enjoy the quirky sense of humour of Chris. Fast forward a year later and there I was, capturing their big day with the help of my sister Jasmin!
Christina got ready in the home she and Chris share together with her bridesmaids, best friend who flew in from over seas and her mom. She did not one, but two first looks! The first with her Dad and one with her bridesmaids, both were equally perfect and filled with excitement and tears. Then we were off to Royal Glenora Club for the Ceremony. Chris and Christina exchanged quiet private sentiments and said their I do’s as family and friends looked on. After the ceremony the bridal party and family made their way over to the Legislature Grounds for formal portraits. It was my first time being there, let alone shooting there and it is truly a photographers play ground! The entire bridal was so much fun! The guys went off for hotdogs, the girls couldn’t stop dancing and everyone was making the best of the surprise sun that peaked through the clouds and warmed everyone up instantly! After formals we headed to the Steel Heights Community League Hall where the party got started off with the bridal party getting iced! After the first dances were done, I put away my camera and partied it up with my cousin and her husband!
