When I received an inquiry from a dad who wanted to do a family session, I had a feeling that I was going to capture something magical!

Matt reached out to me in June saying that he and his family were going to be spending a few days in Nelson and wanted to get some family photos because he had a little something extra planned. That something extra just happened to be a proposal!!! I was absolutely thrilled about the whole concept and even more thrilled that he had reached out to me to document such a momentous occasion.

Matt had arranged for us to shoot on the beautiful Blaylock Mansion property. Talk about a picturesque location to pop the question! We started off by walking around the upper gardens then making our way down towards the mansion. It was there with the mansion in the background that Matt gave me a nod. I told them to just stand face to face, from there he did the rest. I hung back, far enough away to not hear what I can only imagine to be the sweetest sentiments, but close enough to capture the action and Danielle’s reaction. It was such a special moment shared with this little family of three and I am so glad I was able to capture all of it for them. Once Danielle had the ring on her finger, she exclaimed “that’s why you wanted to get a photographer!”.
